The TAS2557 device is an advanced class D audio amplifier and a complete set of system-on-chip (SoC). The device has an ultra-low noise audio DAC and a Class D power amplifier with speaker voltage and current sensing feedback. The on-chip low-latency DSP supports Texas Instruments' TI's SmartAmp speaker protection algorithm, which maximizes speaker volume while maintaining the speaker in a safe state.

The device can be easily used with any processor through the I2S output, and can achieve stereo sound when using two TAS2557 devices. The device can be individually debugged for different speakers, which allows customers to add product value while maintaining the original form factor design. In addition, no matter in which operating mode, TAS2557 can independently debug voice and audio with 15.9µV ultra-low ICN, which makes the realization of receiver / speaker possible.

The class H boost converter generates a class D amplifier power rail. If the audio signal requires only a low class D output power, the boost converter will improve system efficiency by disabling VBAT and connecting it directly to the class D amplifier power supply. When higher audio output power is required, the multi-stage boost function will quickly activate signal tracking to provide additional voltage to the load.
