According to recent reports, Airbus Defense and Space will improve the Xpeller anti-UAV system and install portable jammers. The system can detect the illegal intrusion of small drones to critical facilities and enable electronic interference, significantly reducing the risk of civilian buildings and military targets being monitored and attacked.

The Xpeller anti-UAV system will install a small interfering machine from a South African company to make up for the shortcomings of the system in close proximity. Previously, the system has integrated radar, infrared cameras and remote jammers, as well as Danish short-range radio detectors, US sound and light radio sensors and other equipment.

Anti-UAV system capable of detecting illegal intrusion

The anti-UAV system efficiently combines data from different sensors for signal analysis and interference. It can detect and identify drones ranging from a few hundred meters to several kilometers, perform hazard assessments, analyze real-time control signals, and interfere with the data link between drones and operators and navigation stations.

At the same time, it can protect sensitive areas from small individual buildings to large airports, and can play an important role in important activities. It has been extensively tested at designated sites in Germany, France and Switzerland, and has achieved good results. The industry expects it to have broad prospects in the anti-UAV equipment market.
