At this year's Taipei International Computer Show, Microsoft revealed more of its Windows hybrid real-world headlines, including ASUS's MR heads and Dell's new designs. Microsoft today announced ASUS's MR head display with a polygonal front panel. Microsoft said in their blog that the head was designed with an ergonomic adjustable strap that can be adjusted with one hand. And further expressed that Asustek is working with them "using a motion controller with six degrees of freedom (6 DOF) tracking, making the head faster, more powerful and lighter, and achieving an incredible immersive MR experience." Microsoft's 6 DOF motion controller was first announced at the company's annual Build Development Conference, which is based on an MR head-mounted, internal and external position tracking technology with sensors. Dell's MR Headset made its public debut at CES earlier this year and now seems to have changed significantly. The front panel has been improved, with stuck sensor placement and black headband trim. Microsoft said that this head was designed by the same team, which is the creator of XPS and Alienware high-end computers. The head is characterized by a cable, replaceable pads and an annulus headband with flip function. Microsoft has provided more than 20,000 universal Windows applications, including mixed-reality applications and games, as well as streaming Xbox games for Windows 10 PCs. Currently, Acer and HP, which have partnered with Microsoft, have fully accepted their MR head reservations, priced at $299 and $329, respectively, and are expected to ship at the end of this year.
