The company's demo shop is a fast food restaurant. The lighting system is divided into two parts, one part is composed of a traditional light source such as a small fluorescent lamp, and the other part only uses an LED lighting device, and the power consumption when the two parts are opened can be displayed on the display. According to reports, the lighting required for lighting, the original lighting equipment is about 820W, and LED lighting equipment only needs about 240W, power consumption can be reduced by about 70%. In addition, the brightness of the area around the lighting fixture is the same level.

In terms of the number of lighting fixtures, the original lighting fixtures were 19, and the number of LED lighting fixtures was 13, which was six fewer than the original. Matsushita Electric Works said that although the price of LED lighting fixtures is higher than the original lighting fixtures, the number of installations can be reduced, so the cost difference of all lighting fixtures used in the store is small. In this demonstration, the cost of 13 LED lighting fixtures was about 1.2 times the cost of the original 19 lighting fixtures. This price difference can be offset by the reduced power of the LED lighting fixture for about 7 months, which means that when the LED lighting fixture is used for more than 7 months, the cost is lower when using LED lighting.

In order to efficiently configure LED lighting fixtures, the entire lighting system demonstrated in this demonstration uses the brightness sensor Feu used by Matsushita Electric Works. After replacing all 19 traditional lighting fixtures with LED lighting fixtures, power consumption can be reduced by 67%. With the Feu brightness indicator, the number of LED lighting fixtures can be reduced to 13 and the power consumption can be further reduced by 10%. Feu is an indicator of the overall brightness of the space. When the light hits the wall and the ceiling, people can feel very bright because the bright area seen by the human eye increases. Feu considers this effect by reducing the amount of lighting fixtures while maintaining the brightness of the surrounding area by changing the configuration of the lighting fixture that illuminates the center of the floor.
