Hengtong High-Voltage Cable Company built the largest dedicated terminal for marine cable in China

Hengtong High-Voltage Cable Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengtong Group, is building the nation's largest dedicated cable terminal in Yangtze River at the Changshu Economic Development Zone.

Shi Weining, general manager of Jiangsu Hengtong High-voltage Cable Co., Ltd., said in an interview with reporters that the terminal is the largest dedicated terminal for domestic cable manufacturers. It is of great significance to the installation and shipment of high-voltage optoelectronic submarine cables produced by the company and has far-reaching implications.

General Manager Shi Weiming said that the total investment of the company's total project is more than 1 billion yuan, and two 10,000-ton-class docks have been built to meet the needs of large-length cable shipments and have advanced equipment at home and abroad. The leading production products are 500kV ultra-high voltage cross-linked power cables, optoelectronic composite submarine cables, submarine power cables, and submarine optical cables. At present, due to the high technological content of high-voltage submarine cables, only a few of our country can produce, and most of them rely on imports for a long time. The company complies with the needs of the country’s marine development and national defense construction, relying on its strong technical and soft strength advantages. The role of the golden waterway of the Yangtze River will be brought into play to create an opportunity to compete with international cable giants on the same platform, and the submarine cables will enter the domestic and international markets in a timely manner.

Yao Zhexi, the leader of the port office of the Changshu Municipal Government, told reporters at the dock site that the terminal had a certain degree of mitigation of the fact that the actual capacity of the port of Changshu, Jiangsu, could not meet the throughput requirements. As the terminal is the first pier to be constructed after the completion of the beach remediation work at Changshu Baihe Estuary, it has a certain role in the layout and construction of the entire area.
